Introduction

The way we will be making money with Redbubble is print on demand.

Redbubble is a website that allows artists to sell their creations to the public. You can find all sorts of products on the site, from clothing and accessories, to home decor and stationery. So can you really make money on Redbubble? The answer is yes! In this blog post, we will discuss how you can start making money selling your artwork on Redbubble. We’ll cover everything from setting up your account, to marketing your products. Let’s get started!

Is Redbubble legit?

According to Similarweb redbubble gets 25 M visitors per month with an average watch time of 5 mins.

This might not seem like a lot but if we take a look at the top earners we can see that people are making some serious cash.

The top earner on Redbubble made over $36,000 in March 2018 and the second earner made over $24,000!

They have been in businesses since 2006 and from year to year their profits have increased with many designers making some good money.

Getting setup with Redbubble

The great thing about Redbubble is that it’s really easy to get started. Instructions are here. All you need to do is create an account and then start uploading your artwork.

Redbubble register form

Make sure that you fill out all of the necessary information including a good description, keywords and some tags.

You can also add a link to your website or blog if you have one. This is not essential but could help in getting more traffic and sales to your designs.

Creating Redbubble designs

Now, many people are not artistic and might be wondering how they can create designs that will sell on Redbubble.

The good news is that you don’t need to be an expert artist in order to create successful designs. In fact, many of the top sellers on Redbubble use simple vector illustrations or photos that they have taken themselves.

The first step in my introduction to Redbubble is once I registered was browse around and see what others were doing. Check out what is selling and see if you can create your own design that is similar to what is already successful. There’s no need to reinvent the wheel to be successful. Just do what other successful people are doing and find a way to do it better.

Where to find free images

You can find free clips and photos in places like pixabay.com, pexels.com, freeimages.com, wikepedia.com and more. Searching in google will help you find more free image sites. A word of warning, make sure you check that image is Royalty Free by checking the license of the image you intend to use.

Be original

After downloading your image, vector or design and having ascertained it is in the public domain and free to use. It would then be a good idea to make it original. This is simple to do. Head over to photofilers.com, upload your image and you can adjust the brightness, color etc, and crop as you desire. Once those minor changes are made you image is now original.

Photofilters.com

Pay someone make you a design

I wouldn’t recommend this but if you really are struggling to create something for yourself. You could head over to fiverr and pay someone to design you an original design.

Finding buyers to your designs

Once you have found your design made it original and created your listing in redbubble now your set for getting sales. You can get a good chunk of your traffic via Redbubble itself. Redbubble has it’s own algorithm based no of sales, reviews, etc. So a small trick is to get a friend to buy one of your designs and give you a favorable review.

My favorite traffic source for getting traffic is Pinterest. Yes, this is the perfect social platform to pin all your designs. So if you haven’t already done so, create a Pinterest account, fill out your profile and begin pinning. Remember, be consistent and you will get traffic to your Redbubble listing.

Other sources of traffic is to create blog posts if you own a blog. Facebook groups is another great source of traffic. Start joining groups related to your niche and make posts that lead them to your listings.

Sites like Redbubble

Three sites similar to Redbubble that are worth mentioning are Printify.com, Teespring.com and Etsy.com. They are all good alternatives that may worth a try to upload your designs. All three are established and have been around for many years.

Final Thoughts

I hope you enjoyed this guide to making money. It really is a simple way to start making money online. You don’t need a website and it will literally cost you nothing to get start. As you grow your collection and gain success you could pay for advertising to scale up and turn this into more than just a side hustle.
